Title: shipping/importing bike overseas?
Post by: OwnyTony on April 04, 2009, 10:07:54 AM
I did a search but it was not very fruitful.
Have any of you shipped your bikes overseas?  Im in Korea right now and play on staying 2 years.  I would like to bring my bike over here from the states.  Tax is something like 33%.

Anyways, have any of you guys shipped your bike overseas and if so, are there anything i should look out for? any advice or past experiences would be very helpful.

are you military? if not, does your company have a policy for bringing vehicles? also, have you checked with the importers. if you are on any kind of tax exempt status (SOFA, foreign worker, etc) you shoudl be able to important a vehicle. BUT saying that, try to sell it to a local and you or he will get hit for the import taxes.
