Smitch your 848 makes me feel funny. Stay tuned I'll be posting pics of mine towards teh end of the week!!! [thumbsup] Smitch I need to talk to your parts dept. I'm minus a wheel bearing. Other than that, I just gotta find time to finish assembly.
Title: Re: ~~~The Official SoCO DOGs Picture Thread!~~~ Post by: flynbulldog on May 19, 2008, 01:47:08 PM Don't wanna pull any sales from our wonderful dealer but go to a bearing supply website and save yourself about $60. You will have to go by measurment rather than application but the wheel bearings are standard sizes.

Actually I was thinking there was a good chance I'd go that route anyway just because availiblity tends to be hit or miss anyway. I was gonna look into the dealership first because I'm not sure the exact diminsions and don't have one to measure...... hold on I'm gonna call Chris, he'll have one he can measure!! Ohhhh, jeez Bonfy that sentence is not structured well. I had to figure out what you were talking about.... It's like this guys, since it was Bonfy's Duc first, in typical Bonfy fashion she decided her steed was male so the Dragon is a he. True he's been under the knife for several month but gender reassignment was not part of the surgury. We are SoCO Dogs but I don't live in that particular city...... I thought that shark helmet was the one that did not fit too well??? Title: Re: ~~~The Official SoCO DOGs Picture Thread!~~~ Post by: Scottish on June 09, 2008, 08:37:53 AM No, the Shark helmet is the one that DOES fit well..... it was a different brand that I didn't like the fit of... can't remember which. I've had entirely to many strange helmets on my head lately, it was a little snug before but I got rid of a little hair recently too. Title: Re: ~~~The Official SoCO DOGs Picture Thread!~~~ Post by: cooleye on June 09, 2008, 09:13:45 AM I need to break down and buy a new helmet one day....mine is like 8-9 years old and been through numerous "drops" and a crash. but I originally paid like $550 bucks, so it better last a while! I have to say though, I will probably always buy Arai....the other helmets I have owned just have not been as comfortable. Also, whenever I try on a new helmet, they just dont have that good old comfy feel my old helmet has (but they do have the new car smell!). I have never owned a Shark, but they seem to be rather popular.
Title: Re: ~~~The Official SoCO DOGs Picture Thread!~~~ Post by: Scottish on June 09, 2008, 10:47:53 AM I think it really depends on the shape of your head and how you like your helmet to fit. A lot of helmets smoosh my ears, and the face bar tends to be really close to my chin which I find uncomfortable. The Shark sems to have larger or better shaped ear cups and I don't run my chin into the face bar when I talk to myself. :P I've heard the ventalation works well in them as well, we shall see if I ever figure out the cycle, maybe I'll go for a ride with my head out the sun roof to try it out. ;)

So I bought an Arai and love it. Now he's bought a Suomy and a Shoei since. He's a helmet junky. If he'd spend less on helmets, he could buy a Ducati (he's a Honda man right now).

I am envisioining the after-hours campfire scene out in the garage right now. I'm sure the Dragon, the Paladin, and Trent will have many horror stories, embarrassing moments, and anecdotes to share. Kyle's bike may have a few of his own since he's being rebuilt from salvage, as well. :o

[thumbsup] Title: Re: ~~~The Official SoCO DOGs Picture Thread!~~~ Post by: Scottish on September 19, 2008, 10:42:37 AM Actually.... I haven't even started it. Other than inventorying the damage and what will be needed to replace/ fix it. I'll do it tonight after my daughter goes to bed. It will only take a couple hours, I've made a list of parts but I'll pull what I need off Ducmouses bike for now, then when the order comes in I'll reassemble Trent. The bike is really not damaged that badly from a mechanical or even cosmetic POV. The dealership and insurance takes longer because they are returning it to "like new" condition. My work is a little more practical for a woman who logs the kind of miles she does. Mechanically it will be aces, cosmetically it will be good, but not "like new". Of course her priority is ride time, and you and I both know she hurts when the bike isn't there. There maybe a part or two that will be replaced later down the road to keep it shiny but she'll be able to ride till then. BTW, you're now (besides Bonfy) the first to know that I'll soon be joining the NMMR..... it looks like the wife and I are going to be moving back to Alb. before year end. Start telling PJ's about the awesome guy you know from CO..... I'm thinking of trying to get on in the shop there. [thumbsup]

here's the newest video from the Old bike Ride collection... OLD BIKE RIDE 7 ! this is an annual ride that starts in the Denver area (golden this year), goes up lookout mountain, then traverses thru Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park, thru Nederland and onto some tasty eatin' at the Millsite Inn in Ward. After that we make our way into Boulder and up Flagstaff Mountain. Following the ride, we head back to the starting point and drink some beers! Best thing about the ride... ALL VINTAGE... if you like old Laverdas and Beemers, guzzis and nortons, or 1920-something Excelsior Hendersons or timeless classics like the Honda CB bikes... you'll dig this video... I was atop my trusty little 'baby' 73 Honda CB350F cafe... please enjoy.
