Title: Foggy in good company
Post by: MTBryan on April 05, 2009, 08:24:57 AM
My Foggy was in good company yesterday in Nashville at the Belle Meade Plantation. I was asked to do a photo shoot for an upcoming Italian car and motorcycle show (I am a photographer, but NOT a landscape or auto photographer), and I was the only Duc to show up with 6 Ferrari's.
After the shoot, I told them my payment was a ride in a Ferrari. So, I got to go for a spin in a 355. Oh the sweet sweet sound of a Ferrari exhaust!
Before my Ferrari ride, a McClaren, Bentley Continental GT Convertible, Porche Cerrera Turbo and and Mercedes-Benz SL S V12 S (all owned by the same guy that was like 30 years old) showed up to say hi. Unfortunately, my camera was put away for that show.

Y'know, I'm probably in the minority here, but if I could have my choice of any of those, I'd take that 246 near the end there.

I agree big time. Love those early 70's 246 Dinos! Did a high performance driving school in the early 90's that was sponsored by Mazda. Took my then new Miata to thrash around. It was a really fun two days. But the most fun was kind of an open session at the end of day two, sort of like a motorcycle track day. They sorted the cars by the fastest lap times and each group had two 20 minute sessions. I had the most fun ever behind the wheel of a car chasing a really nice guy who was driving a really sweet 246. I was driving the piss out of my Miata and he was rightfully driving a mature but fast pace where I could sort of keep up with him. I'd catch him in the tight stuff but his horsepower advantage would always stretch it back out. We both had a blast and ran both sessions like that, me chasing him. No passes, just too much fun. How cool is it to chase one of your favorite cars on a track laughing your ass off in your helmet the whole time! [thumbsup]

Good stuff. Won't ever forget it. [clap]

Thing is. To the purists the dino isn't a ferrari. Its a Fiat.
Its is gorgeus tho. Most have ferrari badges on them now tho.

I wonder if in 20 years dodge sprinter vans will all have Mercedes badges on them?
;D
