Title: Great service - Motociclo [Syd]
Post by: sydmonster on April 06, 2009, 11:21:29 PM
Wanted to share what great customer service I get from the gang at MOTOCICLO. :)

First, a little background.
For those of you who don't know; I have "fettled" with my bike just a little, so little that it needed an engineering certifcate. Motociclo helped me with that back in early '08.
Now I shop there about 3-4 times a year at most, not exactly regular. (Considering the 100's of bikes they regularly service)

Recently it was due for pink slip, insurance & registration time! Oh dear, this sucks because of my pipes and mods etc. and generally I dont like having the bike inspected. I rang ahead and asked and they told what I neede to have ready so that I didn't need to make multiple trips.
So I rode to Motociclo, John the owner greets me and served me on the spot.(was working on a SS1000 Duc  [evil]) Good start already.
What I didn't know I could even do, was get all 3 done at the same time in the same location and took all of 20 mins.
So instead of spending half a day, getting a pink slip at some garage, then paying for insurance elsewere, then going to the RTA and lining up; the guys at Motociclo did it all on the spot, over the net! For me who hates the net and does't have credit cards, this was fantastic!
One fee, one place, one visit all on EFPOS.
I don't know if this is common, but certainly I don't know any other shop that does this, and certainly suprised when they offered it to me. Very happy with that  [thumbsup]. Specially considering I don't have the most straighforward bike and didn't even make an appointment.

The workshop was full (overwhemling so) but these guys took the time to treat another, irregular, costumer well. Higly recommended. - Chris

Fantastic to hear a good service story. We hear so many bad service ones, probably because we are more motivated to vent about it.

Makes you wonder why all places can't provide such good service. Thanks for sharing. [clap]

oh right... interesting read BribieDuc.. and thanks. I already booked it in with motociclo and he said it was such an easy job he can do it while I wait..which looks like it is. The pads have done a few thousand k so will change them anyway..
I know what to do if they keep squeaking

cheers

the biggest problem with the back brake pads is contamination , mostly from chain lube and the grim of the road its a easy fix tho take out brake   pads get some 400 hundred grit wet and dry sand paper and allways do this wet, place wet and dry on a flat hard surface and in a circular motion sand the pads until they change colour fixed  [thumbsup]

Yep thats what John at motociclo said...but mine was a bit far gone... contamination wise. He degreased and cleaned it all up new pads..all good. and while I waited (I called in advance) plus he pulled a nail out of my rear tire and internally patched it...
bazz20 I reckon tho will be good idea to regularly do the wet and dry treatment from now on...

cheers

Nope, John advised that I need to silence the cans, clutch & belt covers. All lights, speedo etc.. I do all that before going for rego. - Chris
