Title: Blinking lights on my instrument cluster

I have a new 2009 M1100, and when I turn the key off, I have two blinking red lights above my instruments, kind of like an alarm system.  This is nice, but I don't have an alarm installed.  What are these lights for?  A scare tactic?

my 2002 750 has a blinking yellow light, i always assumed it was for the steering lock [shrug]

My S2R has a yellow light - it's to show off the immobilizer. Stops flashing after 24hrs.

Don't know if this is what you see on your 1100, but I would guess so?

It is the immobilizer, and like stopintime said, it will continue for 24hr after you turn off the bike.
