Title: Carbon Fibre + Monster Dark? Post your pics please! Post by: Grug on April 12, 2009, 04:36:21 PM Hey guys,
I've got a '99 Monster Dark 600 and I'm looking to freshen up her looks with a bit of carbon fibre bodywork. I'll definitely be getting a CF belly pan for the bike, but I don't want to go overboard on the CF. I've scoured the boards with the search engine to try and find some examples but their fairly far and few between. So I was wondering if people who've customized their own Monster Darks with CF, would fancy posting up some pics for me to draw some inspiration from? ;D Any recommendations would also be much appreciated. Cheers, Mark Title: Re: Carbon Fibre + Monster Dark? Post your pics please! Title: Re: Carbon Fibre + Monster Dark? Post your pics please! Post by: redial on April 15, 2009, 07:38:47 AM i was never into CF on the monsters. no offense to people with CFed out bikes, they all look amazing,
but in my experience all CF exposed to the elements will look like crap in a year or two. Even a 999 i saw at the dealer (salesmans bike with CF body panels) looked like garbage in the places it was exposed i went through a 'CF phase' with my car, and regret every peice i bought except for one (and subsequently replaced everything CF) to each their own of course, i will continue to admire people who can keep up with the maintenence or replacement of CF panels on their bikes, but me? ill be painting all CF parts. (cans are the exception to the rule) - i should mention there is little sexier than a brand new dark weave panel in the rain at night lit by streetlamps! yeah! but on the otherside there is nothing UGLIER than yellowed out panels bad res pic of DP fiber cans (http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs024.snc1/2649_850839838074_9324894_56460847_5174820_n.jpg) (http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs024.snc1/2649_850839882984_9324894_56460855_4151412_n.jpg) mmhmm very dirty, needs a spring cleaning session for sure |
