Title: Where do you keep your Monster---bedroom, garage, shack out back??? Post by: ICON on May 16, 2008, 08:27:59 AM Thought I would post this on the DMF. I'm always curious how others treat their baby's and where they are stored after a ride... [moto]
My first DUC was a 996, and it was kept in the corner of my garage with 3 pieces of plywood and hinges. This was to keep the kids away. I found out that one of my boys decided to drop some bolts into my exhaust. The horror---that was a dark day indeed. [coffee] Since then we decided to drywall the garage and the wife----God bless her soul, had them build me a mini Garage in my garage. Now, my baby's are under lock and key. [wine] Pics please!!!! I was lucky enough to find one with a motorcycle garage. It's a single car garage with 7 bikes living in it -- 2 are mine, 3 belong to the building manager, and the other 2 belong to another tenant who is a writer for a local moto publication.

It keeps her safe and clean, it makes my garage feel useful. I like to think of it not as a one-car, but a multi-bike garage, something that has not yet gained popularity amongst the wife demographic in my house.

[bang] I've got four bikes where the second car would go and the wife insists that her car take up the other half. If I ever want to do any work or ride prep on my bikes I have to move her car out. I still dream of my other home and garage (ex wife got it [bang]), it had a big detached 3 car garage and we never put our cars in it! [thumbsup] It was just my bikes, work benches, drill press, roll away tool chests, etc... ahhh, maybe someday I will have another one just like it. The reason that marriage lasted as long as it did was because I spent most of my time in that detached garage! This was the car I always had in mind but first the President of LRNA had to get his 500 110's in 1993 before we could get on with it. Then, because of the existing tariff structure on 2-dr SUVs we had to take SV 90's stripped and build them up. Finally we got a tariff waver because this wagon seats six, so this one of mine was the first white station wagon in the U.S., #021/500. It was the vehicle I had in mind from the start. Full County Station Wagon spec but with full roll cage, alloys, larger All-Terrains and sway bars. Just took it up to Upperville to my Morgan mechanic last Wednesday to change the coolant to G-05 and change the brake and clutch fluid. With the recent purchase of the Bimota, the blue/white GSXR-1100 has been kicked outside under the carport until I find some way to reorganize and get it back inside.
