Title: 2009 M1 forks
Post by: Cider on April 14, 2009, 06:32:00 AM
Are they not using the gas charged forks on the new M1, or is it just the angle of this photo?  I haven't watched the race yet, so I haven't seen many pictures of the new bikes.

they definitely don't have the remote reservoir. that doesn't necessarily mean they're not gas-charged, though.

They almost look like sme kind of big piston design... they're very beefy.

I thought they were using that new fangled electronically adjustable front end that Yamaha started implementing towards the end of the year last year?....or did that ban come into effect already?

Here are the posts, they are from Ohlins:

Well, they are 42mm factory TVRP25 ( thru-rod valve piston 25mm) forks, same as on Spies’s bikes, Valentino, Lorenzo, etc.. Haga wanted these after the first test so Ducati had to buy these forks.. The private racing ducatis and the factory ducati’s are using FGR 900 ( TTX20),

"For WSB and MotoGP we have 2 types of "Factory" front forks, we call them TTX25 (similar to an FGR900 but with bigger damping system) and TTX25TR (similar function but with a "through rod" concept).

Both work with gas pressure and cost a fortune….

Regards, Anders"
