Title: Grips. Post by: Clickjack on April 14, 2009, 02:17:36 PM The grips on my S4R are too small for my hands. has anyone found thicker, softer grips that are well made?

Get a few pairs and a can of hair spray. After a while they stretch outwards (see picture) and when you roll them up to reposition, you might tear it (I did). They don't slip or rotate after the spray dries.

i use the Oury grips, $10.. thicker then stock, soft and semi-sticky, reminds me of my bike messenger days! Title: Re: Grips. Post by: Danmack_98 on May 02, 2009, 07:43:39 AM when wearing my gloves on long trips, my hands would get tired from "gripping" the bars. I don't squeeze the grips, but the radius of the stock grips ('09 696) and the comfortable grip radius of my gloved hand do not match. So I took the advice given here and bought a pair of grip puppies. Thank you dmf!! Not only is the radius now perfect, but the added padding is a plus! One of the best, cheapest mods I've made!

I am definitley gonna have to look into new grips. Thanks a lot for the advice DMF.

Post by: OT on May 05, 2009, 07:25:50 PM I put Progrip 714 (rally/offroad) on my Monster several years ago and love them. They're tapered so that the centers are a bit thicker than the edges so they fit ergonomically in the palm of the hand. Not mushy like foam grips, plenty firm enough to get all the feel I need. I'm used to comfort grips on my cruiser and this was the best solution. wish I could have found ones with gel but oh well.
