So I was down in the garage happily sanding away at my styrofoam plug (expanded bead stuff like in packing materials) and I occurred to me just now, is that a big time fire hazard?
I mainly worried about dust in the air and an ignition source (the water heater.) I had the garage door opened about 2 feet, and there was no visible dust in the air when I finished up.
Am I going to get blowed up tonight while I sleep? :'(
Anything flammable can become explosive if it turns into dust and has an ignition source. Saw dust can do very impressive things. Just keep the door open and have a cheap box fan running to blow the dust out. Vacuum up when you're done and you should be fine.

Yeah, kinda what i figured, I have fine memories of flour bombs as a kid.
so... where's the pictures of this plug?! ;D
In due time.
