I found one.
I saw it while driving around one day. Today I stopped and got pictures. I took a walk to the house next door.
The owner of the house came out and said "I don't own it" before I could get a word out. He was nice though, and gave me the name of the guy that does own it, as well as the general area he lived in.
I have found his address and phone number with the help of google's magic.
I was told it's sat for 20 years, and the guy's supposedly saving it for his grandson to drive when he's 16, which happens in about 6 years.
This kid's not going to just get in it and drive it, when he could plunk down $1000 on a Honda Civic and be rolling with working heat.
Im trying to figure out if I really want to try and talk him into selling. A value reference is one thing I need before I call him. I don't need this right now, with me selling my house soon and moving, then building and moving again. The upside is that I really need this right now ;D and I have secured a free place (that's gated even) to store it unitl I have a place of my own to work on it.
Im sure it's worth a bit, but Im feeling like 2-300 bucks for the thing. It's rotted bad, and has no floor anymore. It does have an intact frame, and the body from the rockers up is usable. Glass in all 3 rear windows, as well as the windshield.
Id have to build a frame ( [bacon] ) and do more than a bit of work on it, but the good thing here is that I have a donor 5L mustang. This could be a fun little burnout machine.
Thoughts?

My thought is that the guy that does own it will think it's worth way more than 2-300.
Oh, that I know.
That's what I meant when I wrote about talking him into selling it ;D

I have a buddy with one.
I'll ask him what they're worth.
Looks like a fun project!!
I say go for it. [thumbsup]
It's probably worth quite a few grand, especially if the grille shell and hood sides/top are still there as well.
The fact that the floor is gone is meaningless to rodders, since most of this needs to change if you plan a late-model drivetrain anyway.

Of course you're right...
but ML is so awesome...
the guy will probably pay him to haul it out of there. ;D
2 things
1) it's for the guy's grandson
2) you aren't the first inquiry
the value at this point has nothing to do with money

sage wisdom o-wise mothah.........
not exactly what ML wanted to hear though, i think...
I already thought of all that...
I know my chances of talking him into selling are not good. It's right on a public road so it has high exposure. I know it has been asked about a lot. However the owner doesn't live near it.
That makes me think more people have asked the neighbor about it than the actual owner. Situations change, people change. I have a shot. It may not be a good one but nevertheless I have a shot ;D
If I do get it I'll paint "awesome-mobile" on the side of it and post pics just to spite all you naysayers [laugh]
Just steal it.....keep it in the garage while fixing her up. Noone will recogize it after you are done....
rgramjet or any of its affiliates in no way condones the theft of any vehicle by any persons at any time. This suggestion was made for entertainment purposes only. This message will self destruct in 5 seconds.
ratrod it
I know where there's a 34 Ford P/U in the weeds... Totally save-able though...
Too many projects, not enough time.
I'm gonna guess you might be able to steal it for $10k.
Bro-in-law has a 36 with hood and front fenders and has been offered $8000 and turned it down.
I wouldn't give that for it, but I bet the 32 is worth that to someone it least.
LA
I've got the same deal, but the car is a 69 Charger.

Are you being serious?
You might ask the owner for permission to throw a tarp over it and pour some old crankcase oil over the rusty parts. Maybe make some points that way, and who knows, if you end up getting it, it might be in a little bit better shape for your efforts.
I was interested in an old original like that a few years ago, but the feedback I got was that in general almost all the old frames are too rusted to use with a high performance motor and I'd be better off buying a new steel repro. Don't know if there's any truth to that.

See what a great deal you got on the 750? ;D
my pops builds street rods
he says if the owner doesn't know what he has you might get it for 5-6k
Hmm. It's definitely not worth that to me.
It's just steel after all.

Yeah, but this car buried in the woods hasn't tried to kill me twice before I've ridden it. ;D

Totally.
But Mother's info is better.

+1
I'd say Mom's estimate is pretty close. Not many steel 5-window Deuces left in the rough you know.
Oh...I know

What do you expect?
You ripped its' heart out and replaced it with a frankenstein heart. ;D
