This is probably a dumb question, but someone posted something else that got me to thinking about it.
I have a 2007 S4R T. I want the bike to sound better, but I can't afford new pipes right now. I am considering saving up for some BoomTubes, or getting a friend of mine to core the stock cans for me.
But in the mean Time... What happens if you just take the mufflers off and run the bike stock set up, udder and all, just sans mufflers?
Patiently awaiting your mocking, shock and horror. :'(

None of that :)
It has been done by others - doesn't look bad - and is very affordable. I don't know about fuelling issues though.
yeah... that's my concern. I don't want to do anything that's gonna hurt my bike/cost me more money down the road.
As I, not the expert, understand it - a lot/most of the back pressure you need is supplied by the udder. So, you could very well be fine.
If there are no replies from those who run a set up like that, maybe spend some time looking through the Official Bikes to see if you can find one to ask directly? You might also add "udder only" to your topic title?
i can only speak for my s2r1k, but i ran with only the udder for the first 5k.
you will need good ear plugs however.

Try this, It's a cheap alternative. I lost the loud pinging sound you get from udder only, puts out the right amount of compression that is lost after stock pipe removal and it still sounds mean as hell [evil]
I really like the look of what you did with your udder, and the fabricated exhaust. I have a friend who will help me. But could you give me detailed instructions on what materials and steps you took?
Assume you are explaining it to a 4 year old, and I should be able to get it.
I'm bumping this, so a friend not familiar with the site can easily find it.
