Title: I can't make the first 600 miles pass by fast enough!
Post by: alligator on April 17, 2009, 06:19:38 PM
When I purchased my bike, I vowed to take it home stock, ride it for a while, then bring it back for modifications.  This, I told myself, was so I could tell the difference and appreciate the modifications more.  Well, I am about half way into the first 600 miles, and I haven't found enough time to ride it and the first 600 miles are not passing quickly enough.

It is very clear I need a 14 tooth gear up front.  No question about it.

It is also very clear I need to unleash the full beast with some slip on Termi's.  It just isn't mean enough yet.

So, I'll be out riding tomorrow in the Minneapolis area.  If you see me, make sure you wave, and then maybe I'll miss my turn and put a few more miles on the bike.

600 miles should be a 1st week activity  :P   Just go out and  [moto] [moto] [moto] until the clock reads 600.  Then you can see what the bike will really do.  The 696 really opens up after 6k

I find it goes way too fast. In one week I almost have it on the bike and I have to drive 500 miles to the nearest dealer.

There is no good reason to wait until 600 miles before switching to a 14-tooth front sprocket.  You can do that one right away.

I'm with you.  I got my bike w/ 270 miles on the odo just last week.  It's up at 350 now but really I can't get it to 600 fast enough!  Hoping for a few more sunny days.
