Title: Plating titanium... Post by: TAftonomos on April 19, 2009, 08:23:21 AM Anyone out there familiar with plating...specifically titanium? I've got a bunch of Ti hardware....and I'd like to to all match and accent the asthetics of the bike so I need to get it all plated.
Ti Ni would be cool, maybe a machinist out there knows something about Ti-ni plating tools and it would apply to Ti? Title: Re: Plating titanium... Not sure if they do what you are looking for, If you go to their coating guide, they list the properties "colors". I do know that they do have a batch limit for price.

You also have a more limited range of colors. The plus side is you can take it off with 800 grit sandpaper. Title: Re: Plating titanium... I ran into Ti once... by accident... as soon as I hit it to activate (for Ni plate repair) it anodized. confused the shit out of me, because the part was supposed to be NiCu lol Title: Re: Plating titanium... I suppose maybe if you hit it w/low enough voltage, you could get a base layer (usually copper) to stick. it's been a few years since I've done any of that Title: Re: Plating titanium...
