Title: My Bright Shiny New Toy Post by: BikerGoddess on April 20, 2009, 07:48:51 AM Picked up my new Aprilia Scarabeo 200 from Scuderia on Saturday! Went on an awesome first ride with Desmoquattro and Michael Moore.

Freeway-legal speed, very good brakes (they're linked), and lots of storage. The water-cooled DOHC 4-valve motor is great at speed. We added some bar-end weights (grazie, Sig. Moore) this weekend, and we'll be mounting the Givi box as soon as we can procure the proper brackets. Title: Re: My Bright Shiny New Toy Post by: somegirl on April 20, 2009, 08:22:46 AM Sweet, congrats!!!! 8) ;D

Congrats!! [thumbsup] Title: Re: My Bright Shiny New Toy Post by: desmoquattro on April 20, 2009, 11:52:52 AM next up we wanna seevideo of MrMoore teaching you the fine art of scooter burnouts! Congrats!! [thumbsup] It's a bit hard to do with the linked brakes. I keep talking about putting a 2x4 in the front spokes, but for some reason BikerGoddess keeps vetoing that idea [evil] Title: Re: My Bright Shiny New Toy Post by: Desmostro on April 20, 2009, 01:00:32 PM w00t! [thumbsup] [thumbsup]
I heard about the new cornering capabilities... nice. Title: Re: My Bright Shiny New Toy Post by: ducati_tim on April 20, 2009, 01:54:24 PM I really like the Scarabeo. The bigger tires don't look as cool, but they feel better to me on the road than the Vespa's do. I think you have one of the almost perfect SF machines (the perfect SF machine being my Monster) 8)
Congratulations on the new ride! [clap] Title: Re: My Bright Shiny New Toy Post by: Cynic on April 20, 2009, 01:54:31 PM Congrats on the new wheels!!
Title: Re: My Bright Shiny New Toy Post by: Alexandre on April 20, 2009, 02:46:04 PM Scarabeos are cool, welcome to the club [thumbsup]

Title: Re: My Bright Shiny New Toy Post by: BikerGoddess on April 20, 2009, 08:22:56 PM Yes, the new ride is very cool, but I wasn't, due to the Scarabeo's aerodynamics (blocked the wind too well). Very smooth on the highway and on bumpy city streets. I caught DQ digging a ride on it while I was working at the D Store on Sunday. The big wheels made me feel a lot more confident when cornering. I've yet to work off the chicken strips. Of course, I couldn't keep up with DQ and MM in the twisties!

I'd have second thoughts trying to keep up on the Duc on certain roads. [laugh] Title: Re: My Bright Shiny New Toy Post by: desmoquattro on April 20, 2009, 08:52:24 PM MM can do a good clip two-up on that "little" scoot of his. That thing flies...great power, and you pretty much want to keep the throttle pinned when you ride it. Title: Re: My Bright Shiny New Toy Post by: ducnymph on April 20, 2009, 09:57:53 PM Sweet ride BikerGoddess! I can see why you'd feel confident with those wheels! Congrats [thumbsup]

Title: Re: My Bright Shiny New Toy Post by: mostrobelle on April 23, 2009, 08:06:41 PM So what's happening with the road mower now than you have the scootersedici in the livery?
(And :o to Mark posting.) Title: Re: My Bright Shiny New Toy Post by: BikerGoddess on April 23, 2009, 08:24:01 PM So what's happening with the road mower now than you have the scootersedici in the livery? Ah, the Road Mower is up for sale (http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/mcy/1136276146.html). If it hangs around any longer DQ will square off the rear tire doing burnouts. He's fully prepared to demonstrate for prospective buyers. Title: Re: My Bright Shiny New Toy Post by: BikerGoddess on April 23, 2009, 08:24:45 PM Congrats Sweets! Where the heck have you been?! Title: Re: My Bright Shiny New Toy Post by: BikerGoddess on April 23, 2009, 08:25:59 PM Congrats, nice ride! [thumbsup] Perfect weather to test it out.
