Title: Frontline - Poison Waters
Post by: Bun-bun on April 20, 2009, 01:18:59 PM
NPR will air an episode of Frontline this week that should be of interest to those of us living near the Potomac and the Bay. Called Poison(Poisoned?) Waters, it details the state of the D.C. area watershed, and the problems being found here.
It sounded interesting.
It'll be on WHRO Hampton roads at 8pm tomorrow, I'm not sure if MPT will carry it at the same time or not.

NPR sucks, I do not trust a thing that they report. I have first hand knowlege of them editing the facts to lean to the left. They claim that the stories are edited for time  [puke]. They have a political agenda.
The music production side of NPR is awsome. I have seen a lot of cool things in Studio 4.

I posted this because it's a local issue getting national attention. I haven't seen it yet, but I thought it would be of interest to other forum members that live in the area.
Whether NPR sucks or not is a whole 'nother issue.

Sorry about the harsh reply. I just hate NPR. I used to be the chief engineer for NPR. The news dept is the worst. I did catch part of the show on WETA. It seemed to be reported in fair manner. The story did cover DC and parts of MD. The end result from the findings was that nobody knows if the chemical levels are safe or not. The main focus needs to be finding out. This is not happening at this point. This show was spot on IMHO. Again, sorry about the reply.

I caught the program as well. They got into the politics somewhat, especially in the first part with the factory farms runoff, but mainly reported on the problems, and the problems encountered with cleanup efforts, especially in Seattle. Some of the ordinances they passed out there really seem draconian.
