Title: Brake Shudder
Post by: Schwanger on May 16, 2008, 02:42:33 PM
When I brake hard and run over a bump I get a horrible shudder in the front end that progressively gets worse until I stop of let off.  I've been fighting this for over a year.  I have tried cleaning the brakes, including the rotor buttons, and increasing the rebound and compression damping.  I have only recently started messing with the forks and I only increased the damping by 1 click on both rebound and compression.

I need some help.  Any ideas?

I think you need to properly bed in your brakes.

Have you looked at your steering head bearings?

Is your front suspension bottoming?

I don't believe that the suspension is bottoming out.

I'm going to check the head bearings, they might be loose.
