The big changes to me look like:
seat cowl
pipes
belly pan
steering damper
rearsets
oil head-lines (my 1999 doesn't have those)
for preload adjusters, maybe?
chain guard

I have the headlight fairing and belly pan just saving up the pennies for the respray.

rearsets i should have this week and steering damper next week if the gods of Ebay smile upon me.

I'm looking for a damper myself - got a link for the one you're getting?

If you've got a stock triple setup - the kind using the standard style bar riser (I think it works with SpeedyMoto's as well) there are top mount damper options.

Otherwise, there are several companies selling frame mount "purse-snatcher" mounting kits, to which you would only need provide a damper. An Ohlins generic 68mm is what I used for my below-the-triple mount, and would work, as would many others for the side mount.

To the OP, you may want to consider the billet below-the-triple mount, since you have an older framed monster. All the benefits, without having it on the side of the bike.

not to sound like a tart, but the monster that inspired me is.... all of yours!

I couldnt name a single bike, but all the monsters that i looked at, amazed me at how the owner can shape it to their own personality. Its really quite amazing to see people turn one bike into an all around town scooter, a twisty destroyer, or a decked out touring duty naked.

The only problem? deciding which mods NOT to do.

That's one creative way of fitting the damper.  Man, something surprises me everyday. :)

You don't happen to have a pic from straight on do you? It kinda looks like it sticks out on the left side past the fork.

Is it possible to get this kit to work on a S2R?  I have mine on the side and would prefer it under the triple.

Call them up and ask! They are really helpful, and may have something for your bike. It doesn't stick out on the sides really, and you can lean way over and adjust it while moving if you really needed to (note: not suggested. you can adjust it while sitting on the bike to accommodate city riding vs track style riding. I wouldn't be haulin' ass down the highway and tinkering with it)
