Hey all
Just got my bike back from the shop for inspection and got the 14t everyone keeps raving about. (80$ parts incl...not bad)
Took it out and I love the extra torque, but Im finding that I get a bit more vibration when the engine isn't fully up to speed, like maybe around 3-4k, and mostly at 30-40ish mph. No lugging...just a high frequency vibration.
I'm thinking it's either:
a. Chain tension
b. Needs to be broken in a bit before it mates with my chain (2k miles on the chain before install)
c. that's just how a smaller sprocket feels
Any ideas? It's nearly bad enough to stop me riding, but I want to make sure it's not something that'll harm the bike. Can also possibly be a problem if im going to take it out longer distances. (numb hands)
I installed a 14t countershaft sprocket at just about 2k miles and noticed no additional vibration.

For the lazy, this thread basically says that the guy ensured his wheel was straight and that the chain wasn't too tight. The combination of those two things got rid of his vibration.
