Title: Tail chop on M1100 and Termis Post by: alligator on April 26, 2009, 03:46:03 PM I'm getting Termi's installed soon, and I plan to do a tail chop eventually. Does it make more sense to get full Termi's because of this or do you think there will be aftermarket support for the tail chop later. I don't want to choose slip on's when I could have picked up a full Termi system.

The gloss black skins are from a base 1100. The wheels are tires are from an 848. I purchased the DP Short Tail Kit from my dealer along with the other bits and pieces on the bike. Any dealer can order it for you or I'm sure they are available through a number of online sources: http://www.store.commoto.com/ducati-monster-6961100-short-tail-p-1032.html (http://www.store.commoto.com/ducati-monster-6961100-short-tail-p-1032.html) . The kit only comes in the larger Euro license plate size. You'll need to trim the bottom of the plate bracket and drill two new mounting holes to make it work with the US sized plates. Are those Rizoma rearsets? I didn't think anyone was making anything yet to replace the stock on the 1100s and to get rid of that giant piece with the passenger pegs. You need a longer brake line to make them work as well may need to raise the reservoir if you move the pegs up higher than stock. I had my dealer install them since the bike sat for a few weeks waiting on the various parts to arrive. The new line will need to have the same fittings as stock and you definitely need to bleed the brake after installation.
