I was all set check out the latest today [popcorn] and it is all gone!!! [bang]
O.k., I'll bite.
What did you lose?
The newer rider thread discussing street riding speeds? I assume deleted by the original poster.
I didn't know you could remove a thread if there were subsequent contributing posters. I thought it was censorship. I thought we had lost the ability to ask a stupid question (no offense to the original poster), which would be a sad day for the DMF if that were the case, and I sure hope that is not what happened...
you can delete any of your own posts and any thread you start. You can also lock or move any thread you start.
okay then Scott....start a new flaming subject about nipples and riding and other inflamatory stuff then!
new topic...ATGATT? who does and who doesn't and why?

Bummer. I thought that it had evolved nto a constructive and useful thread, and that any bruised feelings had been dealth with in a mature and responsible manner.
Too bad it's not here for the next new Ducati rider who wants to go out and explore his or her limits or the limits of his or her bike. It might have saved someone some pain and/or expense.
Tim, you're way off topic. This is a thread about nipple pinching.
I took it down because it didnt seem to be going anywhere near the direction I wanted/expected it to go.
It is too hard to understand tone on here but it seemed that no matter how objective I tried to be when reading the subsequent posts, I was just going to keep feeling like I was getting scolded for riding like an ass on the street. Maybe the wording of my original post was misleading but I consider myself far from that and I would never ride to the point that I was ever risking hurting myself or anyone else on the road.
In the end I wasnt looking forward to logging on to read any more of the responses. I would rather have a face to face conversation and even ride with some of you before you go judging if I am a squid.
I've met you face to face. You did give off that fishy smell. Definitely questionable about your squidliness. :P :P :P

One of my first posts was "aint it cool you can use your kickstand to shut off your engine," and I was quickly reprimanded for not always using the engine kill button. The thinking was to develop the good habit which might come in handy in the event of an emergency, helpful I suppose, but probably the last thing I wanted to hear. That was not on the CAM board but in the Riding Techniques board, but i digress. I think my point is what is great about this community is the same thing that can be annoying at times, if you ask for opinions you are going to get them. People here enthusiatiscally care and genuinely want to help, and nobody wants to see anybody get hurt so I think people error on the side of caution and safety. They are just being responsible, I have noticed. It is not so unlike Isaac Asimov's I-Robot three laws. 1) public streets are not for racing, take your aggressive riding to the track, 2) All gear all the time, and 3) Ride your own ride (I feel really good about the first two but maybe someone has a better 3rd?). I have never seen any experienced folks here advise or do anything that might violate these governing principles. This "Law" prohibits them telling you how fast you can take any public road, how to pop a wheelie, and so forth. Hence the "question that should not be answered", "stupid question" and "take it to the track" responses. You have to know some folks here know exactly how fast they can take those turns but they dare not speak it, rather it is taboo. You will only get the responsible answers to such a question, which is as it should be.
Try the turn faster and faster until you lose traction, then dial it back.
To pop a wheelie move back in the seat, let off the throttle, then crack it - the front should come up, you might need to use the clutch too depending upon how much HP your bike has / weigth you have / rake / etc. Cover the rear brake 'cause that'll allow you to drop the front back - obviously the front brake is useless at this point. If you loop it then don't use so much throttle.
;D

You mean you don't combine the spinning with the burnout standing on the pegs? I'd sure like to be able to do that. I wouldn't do it on the sidestand - you don't want to damage the bike and lower its value!
