Zen, did you take back roads during your trip to Utah, or was it all slab? Going this year as well, perhaps? Title: Re: Moto GP-Laguna Seca 7/3-7/5. Rolling? Going this year as well, perhaps? There's no fun way to Vegas from LA. Took the 15 to Vegas and stopped in St George, UT. Then rode through the park at Zion - awesome! Then North on the 15 and I took the 50 to the 6 to the 36. (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3621/3494783952_2875a44770.jpg?v=0) They call it the loneliest road in America and you can believe it. (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3626/3494784022_a327aff780.jpg?v=0) Not very twisty, but very beautiful. And every 10 minutes I guy in a chopper with no helmet, a beard and a huge shit-eating grin would go by. Funny. The hardest part was finding Miller, because there's no friggin sign and the mapquest is wrong. Took me a while. This year I was planing to take a few extra days and ride up through the eastern part of Utah, but I got rear-ended last week and me and the bike won't be ready. Post by: erkishhorde on June 19, 2009, 09:52:40 AM I saw this umbrella/tent thing that would be perfect for taking on the bike if you plan on camping out in 1 turn for the whole race. Can't remember what it was called but I saw it a Sports Chalet.
If my bike is running properly by then I might be up for the trip up. I'd be stopping in SLO to chill with old school friends though and not going all the way. Title: Re: Moto GP-Laguna Seca 7/3-7/5. That way you can get you Ducati Island passes and whatnot Friday morning and make all 3 days?
Oh crap... just realized Laguna Seca lands on July 4th. Lol, so much for making that run. I'm stuck with family. [bang] Title: Re: Moto GP-Laguna Seca 7/3-7/5. Rolling? Post by: Rob Hilding on June 22, 2009, 04:09:41 AM Caging (still "rolling" just in a less desirable form)
Title: Re: Moto GP-Laguna Seca 7/3-7/5. Rolling? Post by: erkishhorde on June 28, 2009, 08:30:44 AM Hmm... I just remembered that I'm a bum and can afford the time to make a SLO run on Thursday, hang with friends and get some tasty Santa Maria meat and then get home for the 4th.
So who is riding up on Thursday? I'm only going half way to LS but it'd be nice to have company. |
