Title: S2R1K BUDGET POWER SHIFTER
Post by: berrcd on April 28, 2009, 09:49:39 PM
Hi guy's,

Bought my first ducati about 18 months ago after suffering on a MV F4, now the introduction is over i'll get to the point. After doing a couple of track days on my S2R I thought of maybe a makeshift ignition kill push button would allow flat shifts. I have been clutchless upshifting by just loading up the shifter and quickly rolling off the throttle for the gear to engage (like everyone does). I have found this to be a bit hit and miss.

My plan is to cut into the switch side of the high beam trigger type switch on the left hand switch block and activate a relay when it is depressed. On a n/c contact of the relay cut into the ignition kill switch supply or switch side to interupt ignition. Also have a switch in series with the coil side of relay so I can isolate the relay for normal everyday use.

Has anyone tried this or similar ? Results ? Better ideas ?

no reason to have a hand activated switch to powershift.  You should mount a switch on the shifter arm itself.  Just copy what PC does for a clutchless WOT shift kit and you'll be set.  Might even be able to get them to sell you the bracket seperatly. [thumbsup]
