Title: Twin headlights-need assistance(done, with pics)
Post by: hotsnot on April 29, 2009, 03:38:53 AM
Hey,I'm in the process of fitting a Dominator Twin Round Headlight Set to the monster and need a bit of assistance.Seems theres no relay, is it o.k. to just fit and go,or a bit more to it.The headlight fuse is 15A and existing light only uses about 5A.The new setup is about 10-11A (2x H4 12V 60/55W) and the wiring is about 0.75mm or 1mm wire.I'd be thinking 10A is about the limit of this size cable.

Anyone being there done that???????????

Thanks
Joe

School. Brought them with me on Sunday when I went to Simsbury, but getting there later than I anticipated screwed things up. They are painted and re-assembled though...

Thanks for that lads, done and dusted.Only problem was the speedo cable is tight off the lights and slightly tilted the speedo, don't really want to move the bracket down.

So that's what I have?!?!

I always knew I loved the dual headlights on my bike from the previous owner, but never knew exactly what they were.

Did you buy this kit with prefabbed brackets for a monster or is it all custom fabbing? Looks good.

those look like the original brackets.  stock h/l is 8" and these are dual 4" if I'm not mistaken, so it looks like they slip right on. I've seen these on fleabay and have been on the fence. hmmmmmmmm

Yeah, their the stock brackets alright.Didn't exactly slip on,more persuaded into position. As you can see in the pic the speedo cable had to be pushed over a bit. Great light given out and it takes that boring look of the stock light that 2 million other models have.

Ducati only makes about 35000 bikes a year. About half of those Monsters. Don't think you have to worry about 2 million of them being out there...   ;D

Yeah, its a big difference compared to the stock light [thumbsup].Even with postage to Australia it worked out alot cheaper than other local dealers
