This is just a teaser for now and I will update and change the title accordingly tomorrow afternoon after UPS drops off the exhaust and I get it installed. It shouldn't take long since I got the bulk of the work done.

But for now, enjoy the vid clip of the stock exhaust and NO exhaust. The camera I used was pretty old and the microphone didn't pick up as much as I wanted it to. The sound with no exhaust is LOUD LOUD LOUD in person. It actually sounds pretty good. The L-Twin sounds alive!!  [moto] [clap]

PS- Don't laugh at my blue gloves. I like to keep my hands clean when I wrench.  :-*

Sick! This is the post ive been waiting for.  I am getting the EVOII carbons as soon as i have the change, also on my pearl 696.  Can't wait to see the results.  Thanks for the post!

Same here.  I'm split between the carbons and the aluminum.

I went with the carbons for two reasons. 1. Looks. The aluminum cans IMO stand out too much on the rear. 2. Sound. I've always heard that carbon canisters sound a bit deeper.
I ordered this exhaust blindly without hearing any (carbon) sound clips. We'll see tomorrow!

The pricing for the carbon version was super reasonable. I said why the hell not?

They are installed but not bolted down 100% for riding..so if they look crooked you know why. I ran into a slight problem. LV threw in the wrong length exhaust springs in the package. DOH! LVUSA is sending me the correct size. It was a known problem. A few slipped out of the Italian factory with 1.5" springs versus the necessary and required 1" exhaust springs.

I did not also install the included carbon heat shields yet. I'm waiting until I get the springs in..
Here it is for now.. I'm uploading the sound clips now but GAWWWDAMN! They sound mean as hell!!! I don't think the camera will do the sound justice. It's boomy, deep, and loud!
It's not over yet though. Once I get the spring in and install everything properly, I'll take better pictures.

Quick update:
LVUSA just called me and gave me the tracking number for the springs. Now that's customer service.  [thumbsup]

The video clips DO NOT do the EvoII system any justice. It's 100% better in person and on par with the Termi system I have heard. I bet you on a blind sound test you couldn't tell the difference.

Those look and sound great man.  Are the clips with the baffles in or out?

Did you order direct from LVUSA?  MonsterParts has em for about 90$ cheaper, but not sure if theres a catch with that.

The baffles are out. They were the first thing to go.  [thumbsup] I ordered them from Monsterparts. I paid $828 shipped.

1313, I'm glad you decided to get them...looks like you were quite pleased.  We did a sound test with my M1100s with LV and a Hyper with termis and they were practically identical.  I have been quite pleased with mine, I am glad you are enjoying them.

Thanks man! Your bike inspired me and made my decision easy. I just wish the proper exhaust springs were included in the package. The right ones are on their way.. They should be here Wednesday. No riding until then.  :'(

Just FYI for anyone purchasing the LV Oval EvoII exhaust.. make sure the exhaust springs are 1" and not 1.5". The 1.5" exhaust springs are not the right ones. If you're in the US, call LVUSA and they'll fix you right up. They know about the problem. A few left Italy with the wrong ones.

Decisions decisions

I am still without my exhaust springs until tomorrow but I did do some "light" cruising around yesterday. Ear plugs were a necessity. They still sound good as hell slightly muffled in my helmet. Love it!!

 Just like my Termi kit the dealer installed in that one side is lower than the other. It bothered me so I loosened everything off and adjusted them then tightened.

gearhead, I don't know if you read my other replies but final adjustments have not been made yet. The correct exhaust springs are arriving Wednesday. I'll get everything tightened up and aligned to my liking.

i wonder how long the 696 could run with no muffs. what kind of dammage would be done to the bike?

1313, are you going to run it with or without the heat shields?  I think the carbon cans look a little better without, but that is just my opinion.  Either way, good choice.

I'm running the cans with the heatshields.

Do the EvoII carbon's have cats?  I know the carbon Termi's do not, hence the reason they're not street legal.

The only DOT 'street legal' pipes in the US are the ones that came on the bike.
The Leos (and many other euro brands) are E-Marked and legal in Europe with the baffle in

I installed mine on the 796, they are not as solidly mounted as the stock ones. Did you or anyone reading this have similar concerns/issues? There is some play and the can to connector junction and the y junction to connector(s) doesn't seem as tight as I would have expected. Thanks.

the Termi Ti cans are DOT legal if I read correctly.
Also, some of the aftermarket come with removeable Cats as options also making them DOT legal.

basically nothing except for the stock cans are DOT legal for the USA.  if you notice all the termi slipons/full; arrow; lv, etc are all labeled race/off road use only on the box when sold in the US, they might say EU legal, but that is not DOT legal.

I'm with Raux on this one.  You can also look at Arrow's site and you'll see that they have homologated and racing versions of their cans.

Arrow USA's site shows street exhausts that are road approved...for Europe.
An exhaust has to be tested by DOT and approved on the bike during import procedures on new models

The only way ducati gets around it is they must test and approve their street Termi system on the bike during DOT certification

same way that no changes to lighting, reflectors, mirrors,fuel, exhaust, etc...are DOT legal...even models that are e-approved for street use in europe

I wonder how they passed emissions regs with the DP ecu.

and if they can....why dont they ship them all like that??
