Title: 2005 M1000s "Maint" message
Post by: Ademoraes on May 03, 2009, 07:05:59 AM
Hi everyone!

I have a 2005 M1000s with 20,500 miles on it. I did all of the required maintenance on it at 19,500mim but just recently the word "maint" started to blink on the instrument panel every time I start it.  Does anyone know how to turn the "maint" message off?

Thanks,

Anderson

This is from another board...

Of course, you ought to make sure that it's just being triggered by mileage and not a real issue, although the indicator doesn't always appear at the standard mileage intervals of 6,000 miles (10,000 KM)....

May need to use the RH button for 2006 and newer...

This actaully helps me out too. The dealer told me that once the maint light comes on, just hold the left button. Ya, a lot of good holding the left button does, besides switching to my miles.

It just worked for me.  I held the left button down and the turned the key, since then, no more MAINT indicator where the mileage should be.
