It is a nice looking building. Better than the big bulky "thing" they erected in Glendale!!
Cowboys have been playing in the current stadium ever since I can remember.

sure, there are some innovative things there.
I don't think it needs to be built like that to watch the game.

but it's a friggin' football stadium for chrissakes!
personally, I think it personifies the current economic calamities around the country.
current stadium serves it's purpose, but let's build something bigger, more expensive, has more amenities to distract people from the actual football game, oh, and on top of that, let's use taxpayer money while we are at it.
I guess you have to live in
Taxes..I mean..
Texas to understand.
This state is pretty much oblivious to the current finacial crisis in the US..especially here in Lakeway.
On a side note..did I ever tell you that Texas has it's own state pledge that they say every morning in school?! [roll]

That's known as pride.

I wouldn't say oblivious...
I work for the state, and we're facing a budget cut of 4-5% next year...which granted, is mostly a cautionary cut. Most of that cut is from special funding that we won't be recieving next year as the gov't plans to save back some money.
I would however agree that we are probably in a lot better shape than other states right now...not in the red like some...
oh and, IZ, you live in an Austin area suburb....you only live there if you ENJOY high taxes [laugh]
mine are quite exceptable in the bitter north of the state...its just everything else that sucks up here ;D
The stadium's grandure is all about the Cowboy's owner one upping the Texan's owner.
- Agree. I wouldn't say oblivious, but less/delay affected due in part of Texas economy being generally better than the rest of the States the majority of the time, but it'll catch up sooner or later to some extent. Case in point is the oil and gas industry which is severely bleeding out right now. Rig counts have been dropping faster than the stock market did over the past few months as the oil majors and nationals cut back due to lower demand which in turn trickles on down through the supporting companies. Feast or Famine. Receeding tide sinks all boats. *Insert cliche here*
Looks like it'll be a very nice stadium. [thumbsup]
...too bad the Cowboys will be playing in it! ;D
...better build it better than their practice facility that collapsed.

OSHA's going to have a field day with that!!
