Title: Noble Automotive - M12 GTO
Post by: cyrus buelton on May 03, 2009, 07:01:37 PM
We were down in the Short North area of Columbus last night for Gallery Hop

Outside a nice restaurant was this strange looking, yet very cool looking car.

Said Noble on the back and up on the front.

Had to google it when I got home.

It is this new M12........looks to be around 150k

0-60 in four seconds!

Anyone know much about these?

I know a guy that has one.

He said they ship the chassis separate from the engine to a place in Cincinnati.

That's the only way they can get them into the US . They come from England.

Then they assemble the car in Cincinnati.

Too much of a kit car like the Cobra knock offs .

I think I'd personally have more fun in the Morgan in the video.

Drove with a buddy in his Morgan from Sun Valley Idaho to San Fran.

Upside: Phenomenal car, tons of smiles from folks everywhere we went.

Downside: The frame (wooden) was apparently rotting out and the car was a deathtrap.

I'll take the Nobel. Too bad about that ridiculous wing though.

Um, not so much:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Noble (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Noble)

It's not a cheap kit car. Lee Noble helped design the McLaren F1. He know his stuff.  The chassis and engine/tranny are shipped separately in order to circumvent crash & environmental testing requirements.  The 0-60 times for most Nobles are closer 3.5 seconds and have G ratings of over 1g, with some hitting 1.4g's on stock tires.

That was the biggest thing I disliked about it.

Looks like a damn tuner car

Ok, I am almost positive I owned a Matchbox car as a kid that looked EXACTLY like that thing.  And yes, that makes it cooler.
