Capo and I have been keeping in touch, and he's given me permission to post a few pics of his S4R rebuild. The motor has lighter pistons, crank, rods, etc. The motor work was done by JHP in Coventry.

Looking good.
If you guys like that then you should check out www.ukmonster.co.uk (//http://).
the uk monster owners club forums. cos there is some serious one upmanship going on there with the strip downs and rebuilds. Most of them happening in little garages just like capos.
A JHP engine build aint cheap i'm so jealous
I just went from six to midnight.
this is cool when this is done these pics and flightcycles new s4r should be posted next to each other to show the contrasting styles of the bikes.
meaning one is all blacked out and such, and the other has an all silver look to it and how you can do the exact opppoiste on the same bike and still come out with good designs each time depending on what color you like.
now someone do an all yellow one and it will be cool.
how will he bring himself to actually ride this thing when it's done. i would want to put it in a lighted glass case in my living room.
[bow_down] wow what a work of art!
That is a serious build, can't wait to see it finished. I'm sure it's gonna make me :'( with happiness
Incredible

Wow, If my bike looked like that, I would have to park it in the bedroom and cuddle it at night. I wish I had the melons to attempt one quarter of that.
Very, Very NICE BIKE!!!
That deserves a special parking place with lighting and temperature control.
I love all the little tags hanging off the bike it looks like price tags saying this cost $$$$ and that cost $$$$
That is the hottest S4R I've ever seen, can't wait to see it out of the garage.

sorry if ive missed something but why isnt capo posting this himself?
I sat here trying to come up with some clever to say or a good movie quote to use, but none of them did it justice.
I will just have to say well done and I really like it.

I love the bottom shroud. Totally sick. [coffee] I have always thought that graphic was cool.
I don't know where I got these pics (maybe TOB) but was this bike some of the inspiration for Capo's design?
I saved them because I thought it was one of the coolest monsters I've seen and wanted to take some design direction from it if I was rebuilding my bike at some time.
Whether it was or not you guys have done an incredible job. I can see this winning some contests. Please post up a few more pics of the side and dash. :-*

Powdercoating the case covers is pretty easy.
is that black wrinkle?
i think i know what i want to do when i finish summer classes...
Are the exhaust headers chrome plated, or is that ceramic coating?
WOW is all i can say
What a great effort and a BEAUTIFUL bike.
If i sat my bike on a work bench, took my tools and stripped it down, laid the parts on the floor in a systematic manner, then started to rebuild it. I would end up with a pile of parts laid on the floor in a systematic manner.
I really admire people that can do that - well done.

i was talking about that other S4RS wth the black side cases.
that bike looks sick though, its like a jet with those exahust caps
Some details:
"...the first major upgrade and involved the fitting of the DP 'Race' kit consisting of a full 50mm exhaust system with carbon termis, SPS camshafts open top airbox and a DP ECU. While the heads were off, John Hackett ported them. A lightweight DP flywheel was fitted. The engine produced 135hp at the rear wheel on the JHP dyno, with a wide flat torque curve.
Gearing was (and is) 15/44, a little higher than the 'normal 14/42 but with the higher RPM afforded by the DP ECU, a good turn of speed is to be had with the engine able to pull to 10,000 in top.
The suspension was upgraded to Ohlins R&T forks with 4 pad Brembo radial calipers lightweight racing discs and magnesium lower yoke this was a DP kit, and an Ohlins remote reservoir and hydraulic preload shock was fitted on the rear.
Wheels were replaced with Marchesini forged magnesium 10 spoke items shod with Pilot Powers. Cycle Cat rearsets were sourced and fitted.
A little later came the slipper clutch and the DP silicon hose kit. The JHP slipper clutch is probably the best mod on the bike and significantly lowered my track day lap times.
For the bodywork I went through a series of design iterations, I wanted red (all Ducati's should be red) but broken with another colour, I also wanted some carbon fibre to be seen. This resulted in the black and white checker stripe where the black is the carbon fiber of the underlying component, white panels bordered by a carbon fiber line break up the large expanse of red on the tank, side panels and seat cowl. Custom airbrushing was incorporated into the seat cowl and belly pan.
The work was entrusted to Sudden Impact in Dagenham, they were able to grasp the concept and their master painter Clayton set to work, it took many many hours to complete, each checker square had to be individually masked, 20 coats were applied and no difference in depth can be felt between the carbon fiber and colour coats.
The frame, swing arm and other components, were dispatched to Aerocoat for powder coating in high gloss black, the frame was shorn of superfluous bracketry, tabs for securing the wiring welded on and the tail shortened, the large casting flash on the swing arm was removed.
As the engine was to be completely stripped for modifications, the opportunity was taken to powder coat the engine castings. This involved the removal of all bearings, seals and studs, and the stripping of the existing coating, all casting flash marks were removed. Again the work was entrusted to Aerocoat with the finish in satin black.
Meanwhile, the engine components were being worked on by JHP, the crank was lightened and balanced, RS Pankle H beam connecting rods were fitted, the heads were machined to accept Pistal RS 13.5:1 pistons. The gears were lightened by Kaema in Germany.
The powder coated castings were delivered to JHP and Dave Martin started the rebuild, lightweight RS gear selector drum, RS alternator and Bucci timing belt pulleys were installed. All fasteners were replaced with titanium items. Dave really went the extra yard on this engine to get it spot on and involved two dry assemblies.
I had fabricated over 30 individual items from titanium or aluminium, each stock component was examined to determine (a) if it had to be there in the first place and (b) if it did could it be made lighter. Aluminium components were anodized by Peterborough Plating. The mesh grills covering the radiator and oil cooler required the design and fabrication of a new system of mounting the rad fans.
Additional components were sourced, top yoke from Speedy Moto, handle bars and risers from ABM, Fren Tubo carbon fiber oil lines from Carpimoto. Controls are radial masters both for brake and clutch from ISR custom anodized black, front brake calipers were upgraded to Brembo M4 monoblocs as fitted to the 1098. A Electreon lightweight quick action cam was fitted to the throttle bodies.
