Has any one here ever used Fairfax Cycles for any simple service job? I just picked up a 2005 Monster 620 who's previous owner had the lowering link installed and the front forks adjusted. I need to find someone to adjust it back to stock height and possibly stock shock settings and was wondering if fairfax cycles would be cheaper than biting the bullet at Colemans in Falls Church (I'm located in Kingstowne/Alexandria).
Better yet, if any one's got a good grasp at adjusting the height themselves, think you could lend a hand? I can always provide some booze and dip ;D (or just cash)

took off the windshield fairing and the rear tire fender; I like this bare look better...just need that rear seat higher up.. :(
Sweet! Nice to see the old style. I'm guess the '05's don't have th horshoe in reat suspension - tw oeye bold sresponsblbe for rear hieght. And i guess adj the front involves forks down the frams. Easier than lowering than raising - I use hose clamp & duct tape. Should raise them back up - slow turns are crazy fast with crazy turn-in. But great at speed. Also, have you been aboe 80 w/o hugger on? It's pretty uncomfotable.
Then try 120.
I've modded my suspension without actually adjusting internals all ove the place. Incudin fron scoop for 80+ stability.

Ok, please educate me, because I can almost bet you that it would take the divine tail wind in order to get my 75 hp SV (wearing GSX-R 1000 skins, super low clipons, really high rearsets, full tuck, not huge chick) up to about 125-130. How does a naked 620 do 120? I know for the sake of this discussion, 120 doesn't really mean all that much more than 100.

The hugger is the rear wheel hugger - not the bikini fairing. And a 620 will eek out 105 indicated, and might have a little more. But it's struggling. Perhaps if my 200 pounds hadn't been on it, it might have hit 110.. but it'll never make 140.
The hoop/horshoe rear suspension went away years ago. either '00 or 01 was the last year for that set up. So Soupy's correct that there is an adjustment dog-bone that has been used to lower the rear. Changing the fork height involves loosening the pinch bolts in the triples and sliding the forks as needed.
A 620 will easily go 120 mph, you simply need to drop it from a sufficient height.

a 620 will do an "indicated" 112 mph, with a radar saying 98mph... so i've heard... ;) [cheeky]
no way in heck is it going over 120 indicated unless its downhill, as in a really really big downhill like off cliff, mt everest sized.
nice looking bike, do not chop the tail... very nice stock looking bike.. keep the reflectors on, why? because everyone takes them off, be different keep them on.

Everyone take's 'em off since they are oooglay. There's plenty of stuff you can do to be different and still remove the reflectors. If you want some ideas... I'm full of them when it comes to spending other folks money [thumbsup]

they are unique because you rarely see any monster with them on, so be different and keep the reflectors on... ;D you already have the best upgrade on teh biek already, the crg lanesplitter mirrors are great, have the same ones myself.
funny thing is i kept the reflectors on my forks for the 1.5 years i had teh bike and then when i upgraded the forks to a pair of adjustable ones the new ones didnt have reflectors on them, i still have the old one, i just don't have any double sided tape to put them on.. if i bring it to Roadside grill does anyone have any double sided tape i can use?
so if anyone has the fork reflectors they don't want i'll take them maybe i should put them up the entire fork leg to be really difrferent.. sort of would kill the whole coolness of the ti-nitride lowers... lol
