Title: more mladin: twitter and blog
Post by: derby on May 07, 2009, 08:17:08 AM
i know mat's twitter page was mentioned previously, but:

http://twitter.com/matmladin (http://twitter.com/matmladin)

some real gems on the first page...

"Blake Young should not lose himself racing an old fart in ama and go to europe ASAP. he is perfect size for a GP bike. suzuki's perfect opp."

"a security dude beat on my door to collect motorhome payment few yrs back. i answered naked and half boned up and never seen him again. hehe"

"Interview with Larry Brooks the Yamaha MX team manager in Vegas tonight. Intelligent guy! Haha. What a wanker. How do these guys get a job."

http://matmladin.blogspot.com/ (http://matmladin.blogspot.com/)

more on blake:

"Chasing an old fart around the the American race tracks, might teach you to be tough, might teach you some race craft etc, but it won't teach you life in Europe on the GP circus. It is different over there. Do I think it is full of great riders? NO. Do I think there are some great riders there? YES. In the end, if Europe is your dream, and racing GP is your dream, then Valentino Rossi can bust anyones balls as good as I can, and while he might smile to your face (unlike me) you can be assured he is thinking of ways to make you feel really bad."

the difference there between Mat and Val, and I would never even dream of comparing the 2, is that Val retains ALOT of respect from those he deals in and around with regardless of how bad he might make them look on specific occasions, whereas Mat gets nowhere near that level of nod and acknowledgement.

i'm sure sete would've disagreed with you on that prior to their "reconciliation" this year.

Did Mat Mladin Australian refugee trapped in AMA Superbike just compare himself to Valentino Rossi?

I'll bet he was "half boned up" because he'd been watching one of his old press conferences.

Any other news coming out of the DMGAMA? At least we've got something to talk about. Mladin's making an effort to get information out to the fans. Whether you like him or not, I think that's admirable.

For the record, he's not comparing his skill to Rossi's but if people want to be myopic about it, enjoy.
