Title: help me settle on clip ons.
Post by: xcaptainxbloodx on May 07, 2009, 11:12:25 PM
so my speedymoto tallboys have another 3 weeks in delays and as I was sketchy on getting them in the first place im now cancelling my order and going with either the tomaselli adjustables (first choice) or the swatts with either a 2.5"or 3.5" rise. I want an aggressive stance so im not really looking for rise unless its necessary for them to fit.

I have 999 master cylinders and plan on lowering the headlight/gauges at the same time as I install.

so who used what and what did you do to install them? my local shop is telling me that ONLY the speedymotos will fit without serious mods...

yeah I ordered mine on the 8th and he called me yesterday to let me know about the further delay.  Im not to bummed about it though, I have a nagging feeling that they wont be aggressive enough.

tomasellis dont go with the monster eh?  I always lusted after them for my old cafe bike and was hoping to finally get em. got any pics of your bike with them mounted?

I am in the same boat.  Mine are being mounted above the triple though.  I know of Speedymoto cause everyone goes with them.  The Tommasellis don't look hideos in the pictures I've found.  The SWATT's don't look bad either.  And I like the look of the LSL's a lot.  If anyone has pics of any of these setups, please post some pictures.  I believe I'm in the clear with my coffin reservoirs as they're being mounted above the triple.  Thanks.

I never minded the look of the tom's. Here's some pics of them mounted up...

(And if you're wanting aggressive, they are the place to look.)

the toms are THE BEST for adjustibility, you can do anything you want with them, but it everyone has their own taste, i jsut really disliked the looks of it.

Hey, I resemble that remark (since I bought your old Toms...)!

I actually think they look fine - not pretty at all, but certainly functional.  And kinda mean...

They are AWESOME as far as handling (but I wanted to be low), and the adjustability iis fantastic.  No problem on install either (below the triple.)  I give 'em a big  [thumbsup]

hahaha, the main reason why i sold them was cause i didnt like the look! they certainly worked great though, kind of a pregnant dog to set them up perfect since it has millions of positions.

dual headlights, lowered guages and lights, + toms? Sonds like a job for Monsterparts.com  thats how my old bike was set up!
