Title: spinning pressure plate and clutch lever pull
Post by: MAXdB on May 10, 2009, 12:41:37 PM
Due to a recent hand/ arm injury, I've had to adjust my pazzo clutch pull to a closer distance to the bar than I've used in the past. Before when I was at a light, when I would pull the lever all the way in (when in neutral), the pressure plate would be far enough away from the friction plates that it would slow down and eventually stop spinning.. but now when I pull the lever all the way in, it doesn't stop--just keeps spinning. If I put the bike in first gear with the clutch pulled in, I can easily move the bike backwards though. So my question is, is this enough of a disengagement? Thanks to everyone in advance!  [thumbsup]

If you can move it backwards easily, there is not enough drag to worry about.

Yeah, you'll get a small amount of glazing as but it shouldn't bother anything.

Actually, I'm not sure it would show as glazing. What I meant to say was that you're just getting a bit of contact. Eventually you'll wear the pads a bit and then the pressure plate will stop spinning again. You'll get no ill effects though.

Since new- mine has always spinned alittle- unless you grab it.
Same after new pressure plate, oversized slave cyl.
