Rider didn't appear seriously hurt but mighta messed up a leg.
25mph zone, cager pulled left across bikes path to park for a coffee.
Bike wasn't speeding that's for sure.
I picked up the bike and dragged it outta the road, probably a 30 year old Honda 250 or somethin,
felt bad, the dude will get nothing for it, it's toast.
As always, be alert, the other guy sure ain't.
Did you call the police and let them know you witnessed an accident and report the guy?

If you witnessed the accident, you could make a statement on what you witnessed that would cite the driver of the car at fault. Then the biker gets his medical bills paid at least, and a new bike could possibly come from it.

+1 dont think that someone else called, if you saw it report it. At least get the rider cleared of the notion that he was probably speeding, and as mentioned get his bills paid at least.
Not directed solely at you, I am sure you called but so many people wouldn't call-just a thought for all reading...
A woman was already calling 911 when I dismounted.
This was a busy little spot along a village green, Within a minute there was folks directing traffic etc.
Cager new what he did and was very appologetic, nobody was disputing what happened.
There was at least a dozen witnesses who had an even better view than me.
I think anybody on a bike would stick up for a downed fellow biker, this guy was well covered.
Pretty clear although his bike folded up he wasn't going much over 25mph if that.
But no, for a downed bike, I would never assume it was called in!

Drivers always try to wiggle out of an accident after the fact; its just good to have as many independent; objective witnesses to confirm who was at fault; everyone assumes others called in and gave statements; then your surprised that you were the only one. Take the time and call in as a witness.

Understood about driver 'after-the-fact' - I went over at lunch to the local PD and affered my name and info
in the event additional witness required.
They couldn't comment on status but sounded like no dispute.

Years ago my old 900ss got totaled by a bus. Plenty of witnesses, but none came forward. In the end I got nothing even though I was stopped at a stop sign when the bus clipped me.
(It didn't help that the cop who wrote up the incident bent over backwards to make it my fault >:( )
So good karma points to you, you never know what'll happen later...
I about got taken out at lunch, someone coming over into my lane.
Then the prick had the audacity to honk at me.
he got the finger

Good on ya dude; we all need and should participate to create a functional society; a complacent anaoymous one lets things fall to the wayside ...
