Title: Rambling observations
Post by: billruiz on May 15, 2009, 05:54:17 AM
I was in Borders Books reading Cycle World's assessment of the Streetfighter. One complaint was the exhaust causing an awkward foot placement for riders using the balls of their feet. I have the same problem with my S4RS. In fact, while test riding a Hypermotard S, the trailing rider from Ducati came up alongside me at a stoplight saying I was dragging the rear brake because I had the heel of my foot on the short footpeg. Dammit Ducati!!! Return to the high mount L/R style  [bang] sorry....just had to vent.

I burnt the shit out of my new boots on my stock S4RS exhaust and it really did foul my foot when I was trying to ride in the correct position. I ended up putting the quat-d exbox on the bike which was excellent. I've since sold the bike and won't buy another bike (or exhaust for that matter) which fouls my foot. It is an example of form before function IMO and a bit sad really. I'd be really disappointed if the StreetFighter has this same issue.
