Title: Rizoma Engine Guards
Post by: slim_grizzy on May 15, 2009, 10:03:49 AM
Does anyone here have these engine guards on their 696?

http://www.rizoma.com/Prodotti/ProdottiSport.cfm?ID_categoria=72&firstLevelIndex=3&IDSez=2 (http://www.rizoma.com/Prodotti/ProdottiSport.cfm?ID_categoria=72&firstLevelIndex=3&IDSez=2)

Are they basically sliders with a fancy name?  If so, what are they made of and what kind of info is there on them?  I can't really seem to find any description from the website other than the pictures and that they cost a heck of a lot.

These have not been released yet - not until next month... I assume the slider material is the same as their axle, but I haven't received any specific info on them either.

Unique and good looking, but expensive. I'm sure that they cannot function any better than Speedymoto, etc.

What I'm wondering about that design is, it seems to put some % of impact force on the frame directly.  I could see that it may do more damage to the frame than the simple spool type where the force goes to the very strong engine mounted point.  But that's just my opinion.  Anyone know if there's any advantage to this design?  Looks nicer than the usual sliders, for sure.
