Now where is the best place to purchase one??? [roll] Sorry Big T - had one and sold it to Warren of DOC NSW - As an aside the reason I sold it is because I prefer the DP Gel as it is more comfy. Also the Sargent sits you higher up and I like to sit 'in' my bike not on top of it. I would suggest trying one first before you invest or perhaps try a Corbin. I am told they are the same hight as stock and comfy too - But they take a while to break in. [thumbsup] Dock - Does the Corbin have any under seat storage????? Rusty - Does the DP have any under seat storage????? Hey Big T - the Gel does have storage - About as much as the normal stock seat: ie: not much! As to the Corbin Smuggler - It looks much better with the 'Beer Tray' removed. In other word if you chop the rear! The yanks are into the chopped look and the Smuggler looks ok when this is done - otherwise it looks pretty weird..... You can check the DML for photos as I saw some with the chop and it looked ok. But the Corbin seat is good - check with Doc on that though. As to the 31st - you will have to wait to try the DP GEL as I will be at Eastern Creek [moto] [cheeky] Title: Re: Sargent Seat Purchase Post by: mattyvas on May 19, 2008, 01:59:51 AM After having a little burn on Dock's bike on Friday with the Corbin seat then getting back on mine with the Sargent.
I must say mine actually feels really soft now. I had never found it too comfortable until lately then the ride on a Corbin settled it for me. It can get a little hars on long rides :-[ Title: Re: Sargent Seat Purchase Post by: R_usty on May 19, 2008, 02:09:15 AM It can get a little hars on long rides :-[ I am assuming you meant 'hard' [thumbsup] The Gel is no problem on long rides but it is slightly lower than stock - say 5mm. It is no real issue with rearsets though as you can lower the rearset so that you have plenty of leg room. However, I did add some height to my seat by putting some rubber stoppers in place. Now it is just right! From one of the DML members - $350 + Postage Title: Re: Sargent Seat Purchase Post by: Betty on May 19, 2008, 04:34:11 AM Big T, next time we are out you can have a sit on Jukie's bike. She also has a Corbin (I reckon it is, lets say: firm) but she reckons it is far better than the stock seat.
Compared to stock her seat is about an inch and half (whatever that is) shorter as per her request - the standard Corbin is about a half an inch lower from memory. But since she also had an adjustable link put in and lowered you could probably straddle the thing on your knees - it is too short for me and you've got about a foot on me. Title: Re: Sargent Seat Purchase Post by: Dockstrada on May 19, 2008, 11:10:33 PM Here is a corbin seat [thumbsup]

Looking at changing the shape of the pillion seat so condition not important as I'll be making a new cover anyway. [beer] Andrew |
