Title: Stolen Bike ><
Post by: spawn21 on May 21, 2009, 04:40:20 AM
My Elder Sister bike got stolen from work yesterday.
She parked at the security car park, and someone intentionally break into it.
And now the bike is gone. We have no insurance on that bike since it is very unique and thought that noone will ever steal it.
Here is a photo of it a year ago.. There is less than 20 of those running around in Sydney and my sister used it to work everyday..
R.I.P.

Yes it is from Deus, and the rego number is "RID37"
i will have to double check the other numbers first before i post it up..
the police are useless, they are not helping at all.

That sucks then hey. Was there any other security on the bike, as in wheel lock or kryptonite lock.
Hope it turns up somewhere.

that's a killer...
definitely knock on some doors. you never know someone my have seen it wheeled away and in which direction..and check bottom of any hill close buy. That's where I found my bike last year, right at the bottom of the hill I was parked on..
good luck..

shame,
stick up flyers or fax all the bike shops in the state. These are one off's, so its easy to spot.

ps, did your sister ride that to the Monster Beach Party at Cronulla??

Sorry to hear mate. Those Deus bikes are pretty rare, so I think it would be hard to dispose of without drawing attention  ??? Maybe contact the DEUS shop and ask them to put the word out for you?

Yeah we were they at the MBP.
We did have a disc locked, however it weight only 105Kg(cuz my sister is micro we striped down the weight as much as we can), two man can easily lift it up in to a back of a truck.  :'(
We did asked around noone notice anything :-X

Can I ask the very obvious thing though why wasn't it insured?
Yes it might be a rare bike but Deus to make them as a to order bike as part of the model line-up.
I am sure Shannons would have done Bespoke insurance for it.
Still does suck that it was stolen though.

My sister got a call this morning from the police,
Someone reported the bike is found at some carpark area at ultimo,
some damage is made but the bike is still usable.  [beer]

mattyvas@ lesson learned, now the bike is insured

yeah, the private investigator said the stats are either you'll see her in 72 hours or never again! (the difference between hooligans/idiots and pros)

well done!

I'm very happy it came back even if it is damaged a little.
Compared to a full replacement I'm sure it's a better feeling
Also good to hear it is now fully insured, I know we pay so much $$$ for all our various policies but when you have to use
them you can count your lucky stars you have that little policy number.

We know nothing about the thieves, but we found it within two blocks area,
i am pretty sure they lives around there.
Beside, that bike is slow. If they ever get chased by the police.. he will get caught right on the spot.
They damaged the key holes for the ignition and fuel tank, same scratches on the bike. :-\
