Title: Clip-ons & upper triple question...
Post by: DirtyDuc on May 18, 2008, 12:50:35 PM
I have a 2000 M750 that I am fixing up & I'm thinking about putting on some clip-ons.  however, I fear that the upper triple will then look sloppy where the bar risers were removed.

I was thinking about putting on another upper triple from a different bike.  What will fit?  Can I use the triple from a 2000 900SS??

Anyway, I'm really just trying ot figure out what my options are, what have others done & does anybody have pics so I can see what it will look like?

Thanks!

Mike

You can always drop some coin on a CycleCat piece over at Oncycles.com.

You can always grind/paint the stock triple, like Juan did.

ss have a different rake angle, you will have to replace the top and lower triple, advantage, quicker steering.

Wow, that paint job looks great!  That's what I'm talking about, do it on the cheap!

The CycleCat idea is awesone for someone with more $$ in their pocket ;)

However, the 900SS upper & lower may also be a do-able option...

Thanks for the ideas!

Mike

True, it will steer quicker but you'll lose high speed stability. It's on the same lines as raising the rear or lowering the front.
