Unbelievable. Memorial day is a major national holiday.
It is important to remember Memorial Day is much more than the launch of BBQ season.
They are doing a 21 Gun-Minute salute here at the Sub Base. From 1200-1220 Eastern...
Just came back from the cemetary with my son who, along with the other Cub Scouts, helped the Veterans place flags at the gravestones of all those who served.

I did that when I was a Cub Scout, too. It was a very somber occasion for a 9 year old - but it's something I'll never forget -
They did that up here
every Vet in the graveyard got a white cross and a full sized American Flag
it was impressive
I will be visiting a friend's grave on monday...
