Since I threw in the towel on my OEM forks and decided to put on some SBK forks, my lovely DP painted front ender ain't gonna work. I don't really like the SBK fender, especially won't fit with my "Scramber" paint job.  I saw a GT1000 and it's fender looked the bomb.

Anyone have any experience?

I spent about 20 minutes talking to a parts guy I get parts from in LA.  He took a look at one on the sales floor and he said he thought the bolt spacing was the same, but seemed to think the width was wider on the Sport Classic.   I won't know until I can take a ruler to a dealership and check, but it seems weird to me that a Sport Classic would have a wider wheel than a SS.
Who knows.  That's why I was asking if someone had done it.   If it comes to that, I can make a bracket myself.

since SBK fenders will fit Monster forks, and the Sport Classic fenders seem to have the requisite 65mm spacing why then would a Sport Classic fender not fit an SBK fork?

Kind of depends on what forks you have, but it should fit.

The bands that goes around the fork legs are a bit different on the SC.  The threaded portion is on the fender mount rather than the band its self.

Maybe I misspoke.  I have forks off of a 2001 SS.  I thought they were refered to as SBK forks, as they are different from (my) Monster forks.   On my OEM forks, the mount is built into the top of the lower fork leg.  On the SS forks, attachment is accomplished by plastic bands that go on the BOTTOM of the fork leg. 
That may or may not be an issue.  I just need to find some time to take a ruler down to the dealership and compare.I don't think that will fit.  Looks like it mounts front and rear.  My mounts, afaik, are both on the fronte side of the fork.

If you're going for a Scrambler look, shouldn't you remove the flyscreen posthaste?  ;)

The older monster forks do have the mounting tabs on the forks and closer together than the bands. The mounting for the newer monsters, SS, and sportclassics are all the same band setup with the same distances between the bands. I have for sure seen SS fenders on newer monsters and sportclassic fenders on newer monsters so by A+B=C the sportclassic fender should work on your SS forks.

Refer to the new thread where a GT1000 fender mounted on a Monster is pictured; proof that it fits, so no need to spend any time measuring. If you do not have the 65mm axial calipers for the SS fork, you will need some or you will need to buy an adapter to mount your 40mm axial calipers to the SS fork. Have you thought of this? Are the SS forks adjustable? If not swapping them would be pointless. Especially if your current forks are adjustable which they seem to be- if I squint I think I can see adjusters on the top of the forks in your picture.
Have you actually priced a GT1000/Sport Classic fender? It actually comes in several parts- the mudguard part#56410561AA- $173.99; the RH holder part#82916861A- $98.99; the LH holder part#82916851A- $98.99; plastic clamp x4 part#74110341A- $4.99; fender clip x4 part#85040471A- $.99; screws x4 part#77510221A- $.99
All prices are from the Ducati of Omaha OEM parts lookup, and OEM parts prices are pretty much the same everywhere.

So, subtotal would be $399.85 from Ducati. I don't know where else you would get one since I haven't seen any on eBay. So $400 and you still need calipers or adapters, and since the mudguards aren't made in yellow, you would need to get it painted as well. I explored this myself and decided that it does look da bomb but the cost is prohibitive for something that offers no fork protection at all.

If it were me I'd stick with your current forks and fender to avoid the can of worms you are about to open. Doesn't look like your bike really needs anything at all. If you threw in the towel on your current forks because they are not working well for you then get them rebuilt and sprung for your weight and declare victory.

Looks can be deceiving.  That pic was kind of a mock-up.  My first try at putting the (old) front end together and a photo-op to show DP how his excellent work turned out.  The boring details are in my "scramber replica" thread, but it all started with a pair of Alpina A-System wires that I got used, and were newer 25mm axle wheels.  In the end, I came to the conclusion it was easier and better to use the SS forks than try to adapt the older 20mm axle to fit the wheels.  I've already scored everything I need for the swap, save the new brake lines.  I should get the last bit, the speedo drive for the wheel, back from the machine shop this week.  My original forks are 3-way adjustable, which the new ones are as well, but in the end the ease of having everything in the fork/axle OEM won out over cobbling it together with a bunch of shims, bushings, and spacers.  I plan on selling the OEM forks, which are Gold Valved as well, to help defray the cost.  Should be a great upgrade from someone who wants to keep everything else stock, but has non-adjustable forks.

As for the OEM prices, I'm going to go sans fenders for a while. (you're right, the flyscreen and hugger don't really fit the "Scrambler" idea.  It's just that when I had them painted, I didn't want to NOT paint those parts an regret it later.  Easier to take off a painted part, than to decide I want it and have to go through the painting process again.)  I'll keep my eye on ebay and make some calls to some breakers I know.  If one doens't turn up some day, I'll pop for new ones from DUcati.

Thanks, man.  The only thing that sucks is that I just ordered the SS fender clamps! I'm going to have to return them for the Sport Classic ones as it looks like the threads are in the fender and not the clamp. Oh well, the black clamps are better looking than the SS white ones anyway.
