Hey guys,

Getting closer to pulling the bike ('99 600 Dark) apart and having it powder coated, was planning to just go all black initially. And although I'm still going to do the engine and belt covers (and probably tank too) in satin black, I'm now leaning towards doing the frame red - with either the wheels painted red also, or with red wheel stripes at the least.

Does anyone have any photos of (non 696/1100) red & black monsters they'd care to share? I've found a couple so far, but not many.

I wanted to go the red frame/black bodywork route but forwhatever reason I ended up with a black framed bike  [thumbsup]
If you do end up doing the red frame aginst the black bodywork I would def. ditch the side covers to show more of the frame off (my opinion)...

Thanks guys, very interesting that so many of us also have Rizoma Class Retro mirrors - I guess great minds do think alike!  ;D What do you guys think about red wheels with the black bike and red frame? I just keep finding myself thinking that it needs a little extra red to really set off the colours.

i am not the biggest fan of the red frame black tank....but the one with red wheels and gold tank badge is Hot!! Everything flows perfect!!!

It's one of those ebay finds I can't help you track down.  I think it from Europe, but I don't know the manufacturer.

Thanks mate  [moto]. The seat cowl comes with the bike. Just custom paint job, red centre with gold strip on both side.

I'm officially sold on the fact that I hate the stock cowl.  Nice bike.  Do you have the rear lifted?  [thumbsup]

I'm excited now.  Every other piece of plastic on the bike has been boxed and garaged, now I just have to make a little baby hugger cowl to offset the black seat from the black frame.  Oh, and I agree: get rid of those plastic panels!  Seeing that subframe shoot all the way back to the rear of the tail would be hawt.

Forgot how nice both your bikes looked, man Skinner's came out nice with the carbon fiber

I've never seen Munches bike IRL but Skinners gives me chub everytime. Damn that thing is sooooo hawt in person.  [bow_down] That carbon tank... just wow.



Oh, and Mmmkay, I'm disappointed I liked that screen a lot too.   :P

I would love to see a monster with an orange or lime green frame, black bike of course!

I know, I know...it kills me too, but I want to change out the whole shock, Penske, probably, either way I know Black is the way.  I also have Rizoma rearsets, CycleCat clipons on as well.. Spring is coming too, but thanks

I know it's not older (or a monster for that matter), but I did a Hyper that way and liked it so much we are doing a monster with "wings" on the tank for air intake filters to sit in.
