It absolutely is.
so belt break = bent valves
the problem i have is that i'm on my 2nd set of clusters and don't have a clue how many Km's i have on it ...but it is an 06
i know you guys will say change because of age ...but ...you know if i can strech the time i would like to
Any idea how long since the last change?
I'm tempted to tell you that you should be ok for a while yet. But since you're worried enough to ask, the Bucci belts that Chris Kelley sells at ca-cycleworks are cheap enough insurance. I change mine every 2 years regardless of mileage.
i cant tell you to change yours since i have 11000 miles on my 06 stock belts... i have the new ones sitting on my shelf too.
ok thanks guys
my belts never been changed.. i estimate 10k on them
agreed cheap insurance .....i will check out the Bucci belts
thanks again
by the way Hooligan ..footpegs are still great ...held up to a low side end of last season as well
<threadjack>
Hi Hooligan - Still likin' my pegs, too
Thanks again
<end threadjack>
P.S. Change yer belts - it's easy [moto]
You are both very welcome.
Nigel, when you said yours is an 06 i assumed they had been changed at least once already.
Since they haven't, i'd definately give Chris a call. Or just go on the web site and place an order.
Howard
Changed Rivers' belts at 9500 miles due to age and found both tensioner roller bearings on the vertical cylinder siezed and the belt nearly worn through! If you plan on waiting a bit longer, at least check the belts & rollers, ok?
BTW, it never made a sound that could be heard over the pipes!
