Title: DP Light Weight Rollers part #96436603B Post by: maltese on May 25, 2009, 08:45:20 PM I am going to be replacing the belts on my bike shortly and I was thining, hell while I am in there why not upgrade someting! I was curious if these would make any difference other than get me a DP sticker and spend 185 on my bike. My guess is about a pound out of the motor's rotating weight will give me some more responce, but is it worth it?

Hate to let you down, but they don't come with a sticker :P They do however reduce the rotating mass, but I've never done just lightweight rollers so I can't comment if you'll be able to feel the difference. but hey... I thought of swapping them out, myself... I guess it's like Ti screws... you do it because you can ;) Title: Re: DP Light Weight Rollers part #96436603B Post by: Norm on May 26, 2009, 05:15:16 AM I use them quite a bit. I don't think you'll notice the difference, but the weight change is pretty dramatic so there will certainly be some benefit. There are several other brands out there that are equally good, so shop price a little.

Norm, off the top of your head, what are some other brands that you know of and what benefits have you seen? thanks [beer] Title: Re: DP Light Weight Rollers part #96436603B Post by: Norm on May 26, 2009, 03:56:28 PM "off the top of my head", I can't usually remember what I had for breakfast, but................
I've used VeeTwo and they're nice because they are adjustable and come with a replacement hex nut so you can get rid of the goofy Ducati one. I found 2 others in a shop bin and they don't have any names on them. My son is down from some eye surgery, but I'll ask him if he remembers some brand names when he comes out of his fog. I've got a stock one and a ? aluminum one in my hand now and the weight difference is DRAMATIC. I would think Motowheels might stock some different brands. My son tells me that STM makes nice ones in both adjustable and non adjustable. I also think Bucci makes them. |
