So behold I got my first electric bill from American Power Light, LLC. On top of the usage fee there is a line item for Line Ext 4/1/09 - 5/8/09 $10.44 and Cust Serv. $4.75. What is this ?
I have lived in many apartment complexes here in OH and AZ and never seen this.
I called the company and they explain that they are billing company and that they have a contract with the apartment complex to bring in the electric to apt dwellers. I asked if this can be removed and was told "no". WTF, is this. This line item is going to come every month.
I left a message to talk to someone higher in the office (no one picks the phone. they have to call you back). Of course their email as advertised in the website ( electricapl.com ) bounced back. This is just highway robbery and price gouging. I am trying to ask other apt dwellers here about it without sounding like a weirdo. I filed a complaint with local better business bureau for the first time.
Anyone experiencing this BS ?
( I hope I buy my own place one day soon - of course I will still be gouged but still )
well, that $4.75 partially paid for them to talk to you today. ;D
wait till ya get your DMF posting fee

You have nothing to worry about, you have 100 posts. Me, on the other hand, I'm in deep trouble...

If they're going to charge you for it - use it. Call them every day and get your 5 bucks worth.
contact the public utilities commission in your state.

I haven't seen a $14 electric bill since 1968. Wanna trade bills?

....
As stated, that $14 is in addition to the electric usage fee.
I will try to find the utility commissions number and give them a ring.

Where I live in NH we have a coop for power...a coop owned by touchstone.
The fees are more than the actual cost of power...It's all federally/state regulated.
Pretty sure you'll find those charges are legit.

That's why I specified THOSE fees...
As stated, I think those are just basic local state and federal usage fees.
Let me look at my AEP bill when I go home for lunch, since we live in the same county but not sure if you have a Dublin zip or a Columbus zip
I dug up an electric bill...
Member svc charge $20.
delivery charge .0309/kwh $24.22
Stranded cost charge .01505/ $12.12
System benefit chg .00330/ $2.66
NH tax .00082/ $0.66

not quite 50% is fees.
Glad the coop keeps the power costs down. [roll]
holy shit, that is just full of junk fees.
WTF is the Stranded cost charge?
I guess the electricity gets stranded in the lines or transformer?

yes, 43017 is cooler. I moved 4 miles away from that zip and now and my insurance just jumped up when I updated my address. >:(
As for the camera mount, yes i used the mounted flush and it was good. On second try, I did not use it and pretty much captured the gauge with a bit of view of the road. I need to balance that were I can see top of half of the gauges and then most of the roads.
Hey watch out the turn from 161 to avery road. I think I just experienced hydroplane. I was driving and making that right turn at the light and car would not stop on the wet roads today at lunch and went over the curb. Thank God the on coming cars were just starting to come otherwise I would have sideswiped someone.
