Title: M900 vacuum pump??
Post by: beastie on May 27, 2009, 06:41:32 PM
I recently bought a modded M900 and followed the gas line from the tank and it goes straight to the carbs.

Do you really need one? Why would they have removed it? If I wanted to reconnect it, which hose those the vaccum line come from? I figure on the carbs somewhere but which one?

Thanks

Its on the vertical cylinder intake runner. The bike shouldn't run correctly without the pump. CA-Cycleworks in our sponsors section sells an affordable replacement to the oem.  I swapped mine out completely for a small electric one and have been happy.

the bike will work without the pump, sort of.  Any time the fuel level is in the tank below the fuel inlet on the carbs you will have a problem.

It will run fine without the pump but it helps if you have a fuel shut off to take the pressure off the needle seats when the motor is off.
