I have always loved the way those triples sound.  Can't wait to hear one in person.

My buddy has a Street Triple with over $20k in mods. He loves it!

I followed one last night with an Arrows pipe on it, he spent most of the time on the rear wheel, I love the sound of the Ducati's but those Triples do sound awesome at full noise!  [thumbsup]

Is it just me, or is that rider all crossed up? + shouldn't his outside elbow be on the tank?

I don't think he's wearing gloves either (right hand)!  :-X

Yeah, his hand did look like it was ungloved.

I'd be surprised if it really was though. . .

Id trade my monster for that, though im a little dissapointed on the 96hp. :( the daytona 675 makes 110 at the wheel and its the same engine.

STR is tuned for midrange and torque. . .

You can still get in a ton of trouble on a 96hp engine. . .

;D

You're not making this any easier.

inmagine if our monsters had another usable 5,000rpms.  [evil]

It's cool how it sounds pretty much exactly halfway between the way 2-cylinders and 4-cylinders sound... well, that should be a big DUH I suppose, but I still get a kick out of it. [cheeky]

The S3 is a cool bike, I like the Triumph line of bikes alot. Triumph guys are usually pretty cool to ride with too. By buddy has a Bonneville he only puts gas in it from BP (British Petroleum) ..get it.  [bacon]

The street triple is a bad mutha! I had to go with the daytona though... I just put it together and took it out last weekend for a shakedown.

I did +2mm Pistal pistons so it is a 726 now! I also did a couple of other mods  :P

Paint and brakes are up next...

Wow.

Id say you did some other mods!

I had a stock 675 for a couple years and I can't imagine a way to improve it.  It was pretty good stock.

But, had I kept it, I know Id have gotten a shock, and reworked the forks.

+2 pistons huh?  Cool.  8)

I was thinking the same thing :).  His upper body hardly moves, though it doesn't seem to be slowing him down any.

I like the Street Triple, but it seems like little more than the little ugly brother of the Speed Triple.  I know the Speed Triple is way too much bike for me and "it's more fun to ride a small bike fast than it is to ride a big bike slow", I'm just speaking aesthetically.  It's like comparing the Z750 to the Z1000, the 750 just isn't as pretty.

And as far as surprising sounds go, has anyone heard an '09 R1 with a decent set of cans on it?  There's a guy I ride with who put a K&N along with a set of Graves cans and if you weren't listening really hard it could be mistaken for an anemic V8.
