With the quality of newer fuels (shelf life) I've gotten pretty casual about adding Stabil and when I get cought out, the usual varnish is what I find. However, the other day, I took a bowl off and it was full of what looked like a crushed jello stuff. It was easy to clean, but I've never seen that before. Anyone know what it is/was?
Ethanol and water produce a greyish, slimy substance that is also not friendly to aluminum. Stabil will not prevent this. I'm not sure if this is what you are looking at since I can't see it.
We don't have a lot of the ethanol gas around here. This stuff was really thick - it filled over have of the bowl.
Was dry gas used in the bike?
No, just pump gas.
