hi guys,


do you remember how we used to meet every now and than for a social gatherings in the evenings? well, ok, so it wasn't all that regularly but when we did meet it was always pleasant
now with new people around, new forum, why don't we start again and see if we can be more successful than in the past. doesn't have to be every week like a clockwork but with some degree of regularity

in the past Bar Italia in Leichhardt was the venue: it's italian, it's central, everyone knows it, it's cheap and it has a parking (space) next door. now, with new outside tables it's even better. and considering how cold it is now in the evenings, we won't have a problem with finding a place to seat.......and we won't be cold in our bike gear



.........this is only a suggestion - "have bike will travel"
i'm sure someone will come up with an improvement to this idea

well, there is a car park directly next to bar italia. sitting outside you have an uninterrupted view of your bike and its admirers. alternatively there is a kerbside space vis-a-vis where bikes can be parked

anyhow, I'm now mildly curious, is there no smog in castle hill? there certainly is lots of potential for hot air given some of the "businesses" that are round the north west

Best thing about Castle Hill is that its only 20 minutes away from the start of Putty, Old Pac Hwy, Wisemans Ferry and Bells Line Rd.  :) But yeah, a trip that diverts from Newtown via Casto back to the beaches in peak hour is less than stellar.

If you are referring to moi, I will have something witty to say in the morning....I'm too tired and I want to got to bed.  ;)

Closer to the WD end, maybe 400m north of Marion St - if you get to the roundabout you've gone too far, turn back around and head back south till you see the Civic Video store, it's right next door.

We've never had too much problem parking bikes within sight of the outside tables, and there's the Civic Video carpark, but they close (and bar the gate) at around 10.

The best "Aussie" snow I have been on for  along time. Nice and dry down to about the last 200m of vertical. And it is still pretty good at the bottom - shame about the freaking wind though. It was -31 with wind chill! It made for fresh tracks on each run, but bloody cold! Having said that, it was still the first time I have felt like the $100 lift ticket was worth it in about 3 years.

yeh i got a bit wet as well.. but it only rained for about 3minutes while i was riding... real heavy downpour then it stopped... kind of dried off (almost) by the time i got home.
