They aint open but i gotta know now. Does EDR sell motorcycle tires as well as mount them? How are thier turn around times? Anyone know?  I got a ride to go on tomarrow after work, but just bought a new bike and the front tire is really bad i gotta get a new one on before i take off.  EDR is a block or two away from my work.

They do sell and mount tires, but their stock is limited.

Got a 2003 Buell XB9S Lightning with 6K miles on it. That bike kicks ass. Nice corbin seat, really cool pipes he had them made at flomaster specific for his buell. Color is black and silver, 984cc bike, fuel injected.  Not like the monster at all.  Just a whole different animal. Kind of like riding a dirt bike that handles real well in the corners. Very comfortable with a shitload of low end torque you gotta be carefull in the beginning til you get the hang of them. Clutch engages real early, i wasnt use to that ducs are the opposite or should like most sportbikes.  It does shake at idle, but i like it.  Ill post a pic soon.

EDR does sell tires.  They had my rossos in stock and have a policy to drop whatever they are doing to install tires when you buy them. 

I use to think Buells were ugly but as time goes by they are growing on me.  I still can't get over the huge oil reservoir and gas tank. 

What exactly did they say?

Oh, and did you try your local Buell dealer? Or Cycle Gear?

Did you try Destination Harley?  They won't work on my bike but they might yours  ;)

I removed my posts about EDR, although i think they handled it badly im sure they are good guys to everyone else so blah ill take my bike somewhere else who gives a crap. Somewhere that buells are wanted....sniff....sniff.....(kicks can)

Salty - If you are discontent you have every right to express yourself on this forum.  Part of why we are here is to share experiences, knowledge, advice etc.

I too experienced EDR telling me they wouldn't work on my bike - at the time they wouldn't "touch" a Ducati.  I think now that they race an 848 that may be different.

I enjoyed my experiences with them and their work when they did my PCIII custom mapping.  I did have issues with a lack of . . . timeliness in their responses and actions to help me with the starting problems right after getting the map.  I don't think I should have to chase them down to get them to respond to a customer concern.

They did good work, I felt they were genuinely good people to do business with, I was just frustrated with their slow response times - which in my book equates to poor customer service.

Anyway - I just saw that MotoSport.com is having a BIG sale and they have some great deals on tires!  If you haven't bought them yet you might want to check the sale out.

Eric and I went to lunch today, I brought up the Buel incident.

Apparently, they do not have the equipment to change the front tire, and there is something unique about the rear rim/drive/swingarm that requires a special tool (which they also do not have).

sorry you had a bad experience, personally, Ive always had good experiences with EDR.  And thats with my S4R, Aprilia Mille, Cierra's Ninja 250, and my SV.  Pretty broad range of bikes, and not all race oriented.

 i got a front tire and my clutch adjusted for free todays anyway. Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's. I passed a duc rider during a ride and he gave me the down low peace sign.....a tear came to my eye  :'(  i bowed my head for a moment of silence for my past duc.  I am digging this bike though.

I'm almost at 6K mi on the stock Diablos.... need new tires as well...

I doubt they treated you bad in any way at EDR.

The bike leaks a lot more then "just a little bit".

Blown head gasket maybe?  Something else? 

In any case, its going to cost her a pretty penny to get your lemon fixed.

If your going to tell me you didn't know about it, then do the right thing and work with her to fix it (yes, that may mean sharing the cost).

and the "4 gallon tank" only holds 2.3 gallons. Why is that?

And no, the whining noise coming from the fuel injection is not "normal"

It has one leak, the base gasket. A known issue for that year/model of bike. I pointed it out to her the day i sold it to her. She said she just had a base gasket leak fixed and it cost her $700. I told her it leaks and took $200 off my asking price just for that leak. She said at the time she was hesitant to buy it because she knew shed have to have the leak fixed. I told her i didnt blame her, even though i didnt think it would cost that much to fix.  Its not that bad of a leak. Once every 500 miles id take a cotton ball and get in the fins and clean it out. I told her everything i knew about that bike.  I did not pressure her to buy it. I rode that bike for 2 years and the leak has not gotten any worse, its always been the same. I dont think the leak has gotten any worse in the past 2 weeks, im sure its the same. So i dont get it, you guys are mad cause i sold my bike to someone and told them it had a leak, pointed it out to them and took off $200 for it? Thats what makes it a lemon? I would understand bitterness if i hadnt pointed out the leak, or we hadnt talked about how much it would cost to fix, or i hadnt taken off any money but all those things did happen.

huh? That doesnt make any sense. Ive had that tank dry and put 3. whatever gallons in it.

She asked about the fuel injection whining, i told her i thought it was normal i dont know this is my first fuel injected bike she is the one that told me its not normal i said "oh". So she knew it wasnt normal but i didnt.

Jesus christ almighty there wasnt one thing i didnt go over with her, i spent hrs outside with her, let her ride it, i didnt hide one dam thing. Told her the tank was welded, repainted. Dam its a good bike ive never had any problems with it. I wasnt trying to pull anything over on her, and the bike is not a lemon.

What more can you do when you sell a bike:

1. Tell them everything you know about the bike.

2. Let them ride it.

3. Offer them to take it down to have it checked out.

4. Take off money for the one thing you do know is wrong with it.

She offered 4K because of the leak since i was asking $4700, i told her that i couldnt take less than $4400 cause whether she thinks its worth it or not, i needed that amount.  I was serious when i told her if she didnt buy it no problem i was going to keep it cause its a good bike. I told her to go home and think about it, hell at one point i even pointed out all the things that needed to be done to it and told her you probably shouldnt buy it, cause with all this stuff it needs i still need $4400. We even went over everything together it needed:

1. 12K service
2. Base gasket

And she still said she wanted the bike.  Thats when she said okay ill give you $4400 for it. 

And  i thought i already paid for half of the base gasket leak since i took off $200 for it, last time i checked it was around $400 to fix, not sure why she said it was $700 to fix. Who said it was something more than a base gasket leak? Has this been verified or is everyone just running around pointing fingers before they know what is really going on?

You kinda have this tendency to get... I dunno... worked up... with stuff like this, and you jump to conclusions before you have the whole story, then harshly judge people based on your incomplete perception of the situation.

You've done it to me, I've watched you do it to others, and now you're doing it to Dave.

I firmly believe there is one thing we can trust within this group: Nobody's out to screw anybody else on this board.  We might dicker over different things, have our disagreements, whatever, but I do not think anyone here is truly as malicious as you just accused Dave of being.  You just accused him of being blatantly dishonest, in front of everyone.

Let's slow down, take a breath, and work through things rationally.
